Applied Futures is a small practice turning emerging technology into practical capability. We grow slowly and deliberately, and we would rather meet you before we need you.
Open roles
We are not hiring at the moment.
There are no vacancies to apply for today, and we would rather say so plainly than keep an evergreen advert running. When that changes, the roles will be listed on this page first. In the meantime an open application is genuinely read — see below.
How we work.
Practice over prescription
We do not sell slideware. Everything we teach, we have shipped ourselves first, and we keep shipping while we teach it.
Small team, wide surface
Two co-founders and a network of practitioners. Everyone writes, facilitates, and builds — job titles describe emphasis, not boundaries.
Client work funds the craft
Forward-deployed engagements pay for the meetups, the open resources, and the Academy. The commercial work and the community work feed each other.
Copenhagen-rooted, remote-friendly
We run rooms in person because the format depends on it, and we work asynchronously the rest of the time.
What we look for.
Roles vary, but the same handful of things keep deciding it for us.
- You have shipped something real with AI in the last six months, not just read about it.
- You can hold a room of sceptical senior people and leave them with something they can use on Monday.
- You write clearly. Most of our work product is words.
- You are comfortable being the least experienced person in the room on the client's domain.
- You would rather say “I do not know, let us test it” than bluff.
Ways in that are not a job.
Almost everyone we have worked with, we met doing the work first.
Meetups
The most reliable way to get to know us. We run them regularly in Copenhagen and we remember the people who turn up.
Hackathons
A weekend of building together tells us more than any interview loop would.
Community
The Claude community in Denmark. Open to anyone doing the work, whether or not we ever hire.
Forward-deployed work
We occasionally bring in specialists on a contract basis for client engagements. Tell us what you do.
