Learning objectives

By the end, participants can:

  1. Write an assumptions-first prompt and correct the assumptions before anything is built
  2. Use the Sheets panel for tables, formulas, charts and pivots (Ask Gemini in Sheets creates tables, formulas, charts and pivot tables, applies formatting and analyses data; Build mode drafts a whole spreadsheet from a prompt; native Sheets files only, so convert .xlsx first) and check the formulas, not the numbers
  3. Build a small multi-tab model where every input lives on one tab
  4. Generate a deck in Slides from a brief and named sources (generate a whole presentation from a prompt with Add sources from Drive and Match presentation style, or generate and edit single slides; desktop, English)
  5. Edit a generated deck slide by slide and know when to stop asking Gemini and start editing
  6. Say, for any spreadsheet or deck task, whether it belongs in the app panel, the Gemini app, or your own hands

Executive summary

You will learn how to get a real spreadsheet and a real deck out of Gemini: assumptions first, then formulas and tables in Sheets you can trust, then a deck in Slides generated from your own material and edited slide by slide. End state is one working model built from your own data with every input on an assumptions tab, and one deck generated from a brief and named sources that you have edited into something you would present. After this module you can write the prompt that makes Gemini list its assumptions before it builds, ask for formulas rather than numbers, inspect what came back, generate a deck from Drive files in your house style, and know which edits belong to Gemini and which belong to you.
