Copilot Notebooks and Pages

Prerequisites: Module 401 (Copilot 101) or equivalent experience. Module 02 (How to Prompt) helps. A work account with OneDrive or SharePoint.

Learning objectives
By the end, participants can:
- Explain the difference between a chat, a Page and a Notebook, and what each remembers
- Create a Page from a response, edit it, share it and reference it in a later chat
- Build a Notebook on Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF files, Copilot Pages, Loop pages, OneNote pages and notebooks, and web links within the limit of 300 files per notebook and use it for focused questions
- Set custom instructions at Settings, then Chat settings, then Personalization, then Custom instructions and manage Copilot Memory
- Apply the files-as-context habit: put standing context in files Copilot can read, not in prompts you retype

You will learn how to stop treating Copilot as a chat window: Pages as a persistent canvas you and your team edit, Notebooks as a curated set of files Copilot grounds on, and the personalisation settings that carry who you are between sessions. End state is one Notebook built on a real project's files, one Page that a colleague has edited, and custom instructions that describe you and your preferred output format. After this module you can decide which of the three mechanisms a piece of context belongs in, build a Notebook that answers questions a plain chat cannot, and hand a Page to a team without handing over your chat.
